Dear Grandma,
Each time I make a quilt,
I learn a thing or two.
Like how not to place my borders
and choosing batting too.
You might recognize this fabric from your stash.
It was a gift from you to me.
This quilt may not be an heirloom,
(I made it with machines)
But,
It’s made by me for you.
Love,
Your Granddaughter
Elizabeth
P.S. I made a quilt for dad, larger of the same pattern. I called it Chains of Luck. The extra blocks needed a home, and as chance had it, I had enough to make a lap quilt for my grandmother. I will be mailing this to her soon. I owe my new found love of quilting to her.
I love this! And your poem is so sweet! I may swipe a line or two for a quilt to my son if you don’t mind.😊
